IMPROVEMENTS

  • GENERAL: Update GPU code to CUDA 7.0. (Requires minimum GPU driver version 347.62)
  • GENERAL: Update Comprimato JPEG 2000 codec to v2.2.2.
  • GENERAL: Able to playback true 4K DPX files in real time (providing storage can handle it).
  • GENERAL: Able to export EDL from composition reports dialog.
  • GENERAL: Add ability to import IMF packages.
  • GENERAL: Added new clip name formats to project settings that include episode number.
  • RENDER: Best decode quality for ArriRaw now uses MTI GPU debayer at high quality.
  • EDIT: Added ability to edit in audio only clips.

BUG FIXES

  • COPY: Fix issue copying Icon files from a ExFat drive.
  • COPY: Cortex no longer crashes if log file does not appear. Copy job is marked as failed instead.
  • GENERAL: Fix issue with duplicate file entries after importing manifest.
  • GENERAL: Handle odd red timecode format (01.00.00.00)
  • GENERAL: Cortex is now able to start if current database connection is invalid. Database connection window is opened at startup to allow user to fix it.
  • GENERAL: Next clip is now selected if clip filtering is on and selected clip becomes filtered out.
  • GENERAL: CDL output produced by Color Trace is now compliant to spec.
  • GENERAL: When editing source timecode reel with “enforce consistency” unchecked, correct frame rate is now displayed.
  • GENERAL: Fix issue with files with .WAV extension being treated as video clips.
  • RENDER: Fix issue with DPX writer creating fragmented files.
  • RENDER: Fix issue where flash burn ins would only display on the first clip in a file per reel deliverable.

IMPROVEMENTS

  • GENERAL: Added circle take status column to ALE reports.
  • GENERAL: Updated DNx codec to v2.2.0.16.
  • EDIT: Improved UI for monophonic audio editing. Audio files in the same directory with the same start timecode are no longer grouped in one clip.

BUG FIXES

  • COPY: LTO tapes should now show the correct volume name if more than one tape is used in a project.
  • GENERAL: YUV 8 bit files (i.e. GoPro, XDCAM, etc.) are no longer green when decoded on new generation GPUs like the 980 and TITAN X.
  • GENERAL: Cortex should no longer crash if a corrupt QuickTime file is encountered.
  • GENERAL: QuickTime file start timecodes are always constrained to be between 0 and 24 hours.
  • SYNC: Fix issue where audio clip bin would disappear when toggling in and out of full screen mode.
  • RENDER: Fix issues where some clips were not in sync when rendered out.

IMPROVEMENTS

  • COPY: Ability to archive an entire job and export a PDF report with thumbnails.
  • EDIT: Further improvements to IMF audio configuration interface.
  • GENERAL: Clip playback position is now controlled by the current workspace. Dailies workspace sets the playback position to the IN point when the clip is loaded in the player. All other workspace selections go to the last playback position when the clip is loaded in the player.

BUG FIXES

  • COPY: Fix issue that could cause copy job to crash Cortex when a bad line is encountered in the copy job log file.
  • GENERAL: Fix crash that occured when importing a project that already existed in a MySQL database.
  • GENERAL: Fix issues that occured if Preview config was renamed to something other than “Preview”.
  • GENERAL: Fix issues doing tracebacks against ALEs where the width and height could be incorrect if clip was not 1920x1080.

  • COLOR: Add episode #/scene/take as a new caption for stills.
  • GENERAL: Audio only clips will now display a warning if they don’t contain frame rate info or they mismatch the project frame rate.
  • GENERAL: Better handling of 44.1 kHz audio.
  • RENDER: Add ability to chose whether or not audio for ProRes files is written to one track or not. Two channel audio written to one track is labeled as stereo.
  • SDI: Update AJA SDK to 12.2.1.92 for Kona 4 support.

  • COPY: Fix issues attempting to copy folders with 1000s of files in them.
  • GENERAL: Fix issues decoding audio from R3D files that are longer than ~20 minutes.

IMPROVEMENTS

  • GENERAL: Add ability to set “Drop Frame Sync” timecode for a composition.

BUG FIXES

  • COLOR: Fix issue where input and output lut controls would not reliably show up when more than one job was open.
  • GENERAL: Fix memory leak when copying or importing a lot of DNxHD files.
  • GENERAL: Fix crash when importing reels from a manifest with WT clips on the reels.
  • GENERAL: Fix artifacts seen during playback of H.264 files on machines with at least 20 cores.
  • RENDER: Fix issues rendering 23.98 clip on 29.97 reel to ProRes or DNxHD QuickTime files.
  • RENDER: Fix H.264 QuickTime timecode track is properly interpreted by QuickTime Player. It would occasionally skip frames in the timecode.
