I saw in the email shot for 5.4 prores edit - but that’s not on the actual release notes I think…
How do you do prores edit… That’s quite a big deal to be honest…

“ProRes Insert Editing” refers to the ability of Cortex to perform an edit with ProRes source media into a composition that has ProRes media without the need to decode and re-encode the source media.(We sometimes refer to it as Passthrough Mode) This prevents the encoded ProRes source media from suffering a generation loss by copying the encoded frames directly into the ProRes output where possible.
This feature can be enabled when rendering the composition by checking the box:'PASSTHROUGH MODE" at the bottom of the render dialog. You can use Passthrough Mode in conjunction with a Same as Source deliverable to create a new ProRes file that is the same format as the original. You can also just select a ProRes deliverable that is in the same format as the source for Passthrough Mode to work as well.
