Short clips under 10 seconds fail to initialize Encode

Greetings,

Yesterday we loaded about 100 clips into cortex and logged as normal. While encoding certain clips the encode would fail to initialize. The status would be reported as in progress but the percentage complete and current clip would not progress past 0. This was initially reported to me by the day staff when I arrived this evening I was able to re-create the issue. I was able to get these clips to output but I needed to bump the in and out points about 3 frames from the head and tail of the clip. The clips we had issue with are false starts which when we process we give the entire clip. All other clips were logged with in and out points well into the clips. However we did have one false start that had the in and out marked at the head and tail so I am not sure if it is an issue with the I/O markers. A few minutes ago I posted a topic regarding 6 clips that I couldn’t re-link (and this may be coincidence) which are the same clips we had issue with. I spoke with the operator who initially encountered the problem and he reported that the drive letter was “R” at the time that we initially ran into this issue. Thanks,

~Ethan

What format are these clips? I think this issue is likely file format or codec dependent.

We may need to get our hands on one of the problematic false start clips in order to fully understand the issue.

These clips are MXF OP1-a 23.98 at 4K.

Thanks, so it does look like we are unable to decode certain frames in those files. They are Sony RAW, right?

Can you save this file somewhere so we can look closer at some point?
