Does CORTEX support 5.1 audio for Bluray's or DVDs?

Was curious if one could master 5.1 audio to a DVD or BluRay deliverable through cortex.

Was testing with 6 individual wav’s as well as a single 6 channel wav file. No luck yet

We’re actively investigating this now, but currently, no. You should try encoding 6 channels of audio to an H.264 file in the latest builds though…I think that should work.

@joeral and @jason We have added a first cut of experimental support for this in build 4307. You can choose up to 6 channels of audio to encode now to a BluRay iso file. Its still encoding as MPEG2 and the audio is LPCM. We have tested this on a few players here and it seems to work.

Give it a shot and let us know how it goes on your end.

Two notes:

  1. Trying to encode a bluray with an odd number of audio channels will cause the packaging to fail
  2. Trying to encode a bluray with 8 channels of audio causes packaging to fail too.
    Stick to 0, 2, 4, or 6 channels for now.
